DRLA Board Members attend inaugural meeting ‘REKA’
On Tuesday 14 September 2021, the inaugural meeting of ‘REKA’ (Russia & Eastern Europe Knowledge Alliance) took place in The Hague. REKA is a network alliance of know how and expertise on Russia and other countries of the former USSR. Its initiator is the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. REKA – which, as you undoubtedly know, means ‘river’ in Russian – will be operated by the Dutch think tanks Clingendael and Raam op Rusland. The DRLA is one of REKA’s adherents. Both DRLA’s board members Wim Timmermans and Rens Groen attended the meeting and actively participated in the private breakout session on “The Current Status of the Rule of Law and Civil Society in Russia”. You can rewatch the opening and the plenary panel discussion on “Russia and Eastern Europe, 30 years after the demise of the Soviet Union and towards new Duma elections: change and continuity?” (in Dutch) via https://lnkd.in/g3sHakDQ.
